After a string of social media posts that hinted at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. The project is dubbed Space Key and developed in collaboration with an unidentified artist the project is built on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The new project, which is dubbed the Space Key, is a piece that was developed in collaboration with an unidentified artist. The unique NFT is a tangible item that connects to exclusive digital artwork that is accessible via a QR code that is located on the back. The project is limited and will be auctioned off over the coming weeks.
The Space Key is made of carbon composite material which Lamborghini, as part a research project in the year 2019 sent to the International Space Station. Once it returned to earth, the carbon fiber was then sculpted into this unique art. The physical component is embossed with an NFT serial number, which is tied to the digital artwork with a QR code that is located on the back.
NFTs, for those who are not familiar they are unique identifiers that are stored on a distributed ledger of the blockchain and linked to a digital asset such as a photograph, video, song or other record. This allows owners to ensure authenticity, scarcity, and trackability of tokens via the internet.

The physical element of Space Key

Created in collaboration with an unidentified artist and artist, the NFT is a sought-after item that will be auctioned off in just a couple of weeks. Its core is a piece comprised of an advanced carbon fibre composite material, which was delivered to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. Carbon fiber was 3D-printed for the base of each Space Key. Each Space Key is connected to a unique, digital artwork via the QR code. Only five Space Keys were produced.

The digital artwork
After several weeks of posts on social media hints at it, luxury automobile manufacturer Lamborghini has finally revealed its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. The project is dubbed the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital artwork NFT by a yet-to-be-identified artist. The collectors' piece was created in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to five units. It will be auctioned shortly.
Each Space Key contains a block composed of a carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a research project for 2019. After returning to Earth the Space Key was made into the QR code which links it to the digital component of the Space Key.
Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that takes place at different times as the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Over 600 million pixels up each of the five images which were taken by photographer Fabian Oefner.
Oefner utilized an inflatable camera equipped with a lens to capture the individual images, which were then put together into the final image. The result is a photograph that is out of this world. It captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic image of a car rising away from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and time of the event hasn't been announced yet.
